
Mr. P Sharma (Director)
Before beginning his career in Amusement industry way back in 1992, Mr. Sharma started his career from his early college days from Liberty Footwear Ltd., Karnal in 1981 as Electronics engineer.
In 1984 he joined Essel Group Packaging Ltd, Mumbai as Jr. Electrical Engineer. During his tenure in Essel Packaging, he was very much involved in R&D and import substitute development.
Looking at his talent, creativity and vide skills, he was sent to Japan in 1991 for training and inspection of high speed flexography printing machines. Thereon, he was sent to United States and Germany to train on ultrasonic technology and FCML tube sealing machine.
In less than one year’s time he created the Indian substitute of the American Ultrasonic sealing machine in less than 1/10 of the cost, with the performance at par with imported machine. With this achievement, Essel Packaging decided to start a new machine building division to find an alternative of tube making KMK machines of Switzerland, and he was assigned the responsibility of developing substitute for electronic and electrical parts including High Frequency generators for KMK machines. By 1992 this assignment was also completed successfully, well within time schedule.
In 1992 he was sent to Essel World and with the responsibility to transform electrical and electronics department for maintenance of rides & R & D and to re-design controls of the rides. In a very short span of 2 years he was assigned additional responsibility of the entire maintenance department of Essel World including mechanical maintenance, installation and commissioning of various rides. During his tenure as head of maintenance, he led the team of engineers to conceptualize, design, fabricate, install and commission the state of the art "Aqua Dive" with full fail safe brakes and automatic control system with high level of redundancy and reliability.
In year 1997 he was assigned the complete responsibility of Essel World Operations as an in-charge. In the year 1998 operation responsibility of Water Kingdom also entrusted on him, from the day one.
He has got vast experience in the field of design, manufacturing, operations, maintenance, disaster management, automation and effective cost management. Having served the amusement industry for over 14 years, Mr. Sharma has been an active member of Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries, now inducted on board of directors. His key area of interest is Amusement Park Ride Safety. He has prepared the first draft for Bureau of Indian standard on Behalf of IAAPI, and has Mr. Sharma has extensively traveled to Europe, US and other countries for finalization, training and inspection of amusement rides.
He has worked very closely with TUV in Germany for amusement rides safety, inspections and maintenance since 1997. He has been visiting TUV head quarters in Munich frequently. He has worked with Preston & Barbieri for over 3 years and was responsible for the Southeast Asian countries marketing, sales and Service with consultancy as head of region. |
